The need.

A lack of positive role models and supportive environments often leads to inadequate emotional support, poor education, limited decision-making skills, school dropouts, and risky behaviours like drug use and early sexual activity. These issues contribute to a range of emotional and physical challenges, including aggressive behaviour, unplanned pregnancies among young teens, abortion, depression, and substance abuse. Together, they intensify broader social issues such as unemployment, inadequate parenting skills, and absent fathers.

The organisation.

Youth for Christ Knysna is an inter-denominational ministry empowering young people and families to confront today’s challenges with practical, relevant, and faith-rooted support.

Inspired by a vision to uplift our nation’s youth, YFC Knysna’s journey began with parents who gathered to pray for their children, seeking a safe space for teens to find mentorship and faith-based guidance.

For over 75 years, YFC has been a beacon of hope, impacting countless young lives across the globe. Today, YFC Knysna continues this legacy, partnering with those who share a commitment to nurturing youth as they reach their full potential. Together, with faith and vision, we empower young people to embrace all that God has planned for them.

The focus.

At YFC Knysna, we start by building authentic relationships with our beneficiaries. By connecting personally, we earn trust and create safe, welcoming spaces where young people feel free to open up and grow with confidence.

> Equip

Through prevention and crisis intervention programs, we empower our beneficiaries with essential life skills—from parenting and social skills to meeting basic needs like food, clothing, and toiletries. Grounded in Biblical truth and the power of prayer, we equip each individual to face life’s challenges with strength and purpose.

> Enable

We aim for each beneficiary to gain renewed self-worth, hope for the future, and confidence to make healthy, informed choices. As they build meaningful relationships and grow in social awareness, they also deepen their relationship with the Lord, becoming followers of Jesus who walk in His love and truth. Together, we are creating a path of hope and transformation, one life at a time.

Sharing the Gospel and providing discipleship to young people.
